ABOUT

After several visits to Afghanistan, Yama Rahimi (Afghan Filmmaker, currently residing in the United States) painfully recognized that there was not any consistent support for the teaching of arts in the schools and universities.

He realized that there was a powerful opportunity to bring resource to this need, and so founded Zamen International. Yama's first trip to Afghanistan under the umbrella of this effort was in April 2006, it was a huge success.

Zamen International is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization. It's founding partners include Yama Rahimi, Nadege Cadier, Ouenda Baaissa and Fahima Danishgar. The passion and goal of Zamen is to bring creative resources in art education to countries, like Afghanistan, who have not or can not invest in this opportunity and, by doing so, make a significant difference in the lives and futures of many.

With the help of those who will join us, with their hands or with their hearts, we will make a difference.
